Yes, you heard right. Jürgen Klopp, our head coach and the one to lead us to these incredible achievements in football and the architect of our play style of which we are envied by so many has renewed his contract until July the 30th 2018. It goes without saying that Zeljko Buvac and Peter Krawietz, his assistant instructors and friends, will also prolong their contract until 2018.

Hans-Joachim Watze states: “You shall not separate what belongs together, so we again extended the contract with our head coach and his team.”

And Jürgen Klopp adds: “We are still all a little bit in love with this club and the way things work here. Zeljko and me are still astonished by the trust that Dortmund, in person of Aki and Micha, is putting into us, that’s amazing that a contract, 2 years before its ending is prolonged by another 2 years . So we want it to be seen as a sign that we will not go different ways until 2018.” He further said: “We want to take these challenges, which we will have in the years to come, in this constellation and we have a giant lust to do exactly that.”

Jürgen Klopp was installed as head coach in the year of 2008 by Michael Zorc and Hans-Joachim Watze and that was probably the best choice these 2 ever made for Borussia Dortmund. We never played such an attracting football as we do now, even considering the glorious times we had with Ottmar Hitzfeld in the 90’s. Speaking of which, Jürgen Klopp will go equal with the just mentioned coach, after this year, as he is the only one besides him that worked continuously for Borussia 6 years in a row. And hell what great years we had, great football, young players who love to play the game and international acceptance for our boys, the fans and especially for Dortmund.

So let’s hope for at least 4 more great years of football and that we can go on cheering for a team and coach that we all love and that it will continue to be a pleasure to do exactly that: Support them as if there is no tomorrow.
