With only a fortnight to go until the draw for the Play Offs of the Europa League, we today have a look at the current rankings. Borussia, who will start their European campaign on August 19th, are currently ranked 36th out of 74teams, thus would be seeded if all goes according to plan.

Getting tickets for the last day of the season is always a little bit tricky. Tickets are sold weeks before the match and you can only hope that you don’t have to see a match without any meaning for the ranking. The last match of our Borussia was something like it since Freiburg escaped relegation a week earlier and we had only small chances to fall down in the ranking. Even though the match in Freiburg was not a match with exhibition character, many supporters won’t forget this 8th of May because of the 3-1 loss in Dreisamstadion, but because of the long journey to the last match of the season.

The season is over and it is time for some remodelling of our squad. Marc Ziegler, our long-time backup goalie, is attracted by an offer from Stuttgart. But Zorc and Klopp on the other hand aren’t unprepared. Their answer will most likely be Mitch Langerak. Mitch Who?

26 games have been played, Borussia is on the way to Europe and after Saturday's win over Bochum back in the drivers seat as number 4 of the current Bundesliga table. Seven months have passed since the start of this season, so we think that it is long overdue to have a closer look on our new members who found their way to the best club in the world before the season which will hopefully be remembered as the season where Borussia rose up again and finally made its way to Europe. As the decisive weeks of the season are approaching, it is good to know, that one of the experien
ced cornerstones of our team is back on board. Yes, our skipper Sebastian Kehl has finally recovered, after what seemed to be an endless injury. Many BVB supporters even had their doubts, whether it would be possible for skip Kehl to ever regain his match fitness, much less was he expected to return to the pitch this season. Too often the high hopes for his return have been disappointed in the past.

Mohamed Zidan has won his 2nd African Cup of Nations (ACN) title with the Egyptian squad.It was even the 3rd title in a row for Egypt, but Zidan turned down the opportunity to play in ACN 2006, when the winning streak started.

The season 2004/05 marked a significant change in Borussia Dortmunds business practices. Due to limited funds, as the ominous events, which culminated in the financial meltdown in spring 2005, were already in progress (Watzke: “BVB was not in intensive care, but in the lobby of the mortuary”), Borussia Dortmund was forced to focus less on purchasing experienced international stars and had to take a look at the talent available in the own reserve and youth teams.

While some of the BVB supporters are still moaning about Alexander Frei's departure to FC Basel Michael Zorc didn't hesitate to present a new striker. Argentinean striker Lucas Barrios, called the panther, was signed from CSD Colo Colo of Santiago de Chile. The rumoured transfer fee is believed to be around 4.3 mio Euro.
