Qatar 1 Australia 0, but Langerak shines

In the humble opinion of this (possibly biased) Borussia fan, one face looked more focused than any other at the impressive if compact Khalifa International Stadium last night, step forward Mitch Langerak. [mehr..]

The Yellow Wall Podcast

The Yellow Wall Podcast

This past summer, while in Germany visiting family (I currently live in the USA), I made a much needed pilgrimage to Dortmund. I made the obligatory trip to the fan shop, where I spent way too much money, but was happier for it. I also made my first ever stop in to see the Borusseum; Dortmund’s club museum. It was a great experience seeing the history of the club that I’ve supported since I was seven come to life with great old match footage, historical artifacts and getting up close to the trophies won over the decades. This short, one day trip to hallowed grounds was crucial for me in once again making it clear just how important a club Borussia Dortmund have been in the past and are today. [mehr..]

Echte Liebe from Finland!

Echte Liebe from Finland!

This was already my third time this season when I traveled to Germany for a match between Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Muenchen. I saw both Bundesliga matches live inside Arroganz Arena and Westfalenstadion but I had to settle for the public viewing event in Waldbuehne when I traveled to Berlin. The planning of this Pokalfinale trip started immediately after the last BVB-Bayern match when I realized that I have to come and enjoy that great BVB-atmosphere one last time this season. I actually had a couple of tickets for the match against SC Freiburg but unfortunately I had to skip that trip and sell the tickets due to some non-cancellable engagements Finland. When I realized that I cant make the trip to Dortmund I knew that I had to fly to Berlin and see BVB play live. [mehr..]

Speechless

Speechless

Bayern dont lose two years in a row. Without Sahin Dortmund is nothing. Theyre too hungover from last years party. You cant expect players like Grosskreutz, Schmelzer, and Subotic to step up again. Klopp got lucky. Doubts. Concerns. Insults. MEISTER! Looked like a long ball with potential, but alas its scuttled to Grosskreutz. Decent pass to Guendogan at the top of the box. Mhm. Whats this? Off the post? No?! NO! TOR! TOR! TOR! TOR! TOR! TOR! BERLIN BERLIN WIR FAHREN NACH BERLIN! [mehr..]

BVB 09 America - How Don became a Dortmund supporter

Only recently Don from the US of A became a football fan. Whereas his boys decided to go along with the mainstream, Don decided his club would be mighty Borussia Dortmund. He started a blog (check it here - BVB 09 America) to write about being a BVB fan from stateside. He was kind enough to let us publish one of his blog posts on how he became a Borussia Dortmund supporter. Sometimes strange things happen to you. This is what happened to Don. [mehr..]

It?s not always the games that count: The ?week of truth? in review

It?s not always the games that count: The ?week of truth? in review

As Borussia Dortmund supporters, we all have personal memories and stories that form a deep, emotional connection with our club. Whether it’s a thrilling victory of a national or international title or a devastating loss, let alone the near-death experience in the late ‘90s. More importantly, there are the small things, like the the smell of a “Schnitzelbrötchen”, the sound of the subway leaving for the “Westfalenstadion” or one of the countless rituals we go through before every game. For me, and I’m sure for countless others, the so-called “week of truth” was such a memorable experience. And it was so much more than just three very important games. It combined the Thrill of an unlikely victory in Munich, the bitter-sweet loss during a fantastic trip to the Arsenal and the exhilarating win over our rival in the Derby with a very personal but yet familiar homecoming story. Something is different ... a day in the library

Something is different ... a day in the library

It has been weeks of pleasant anticipation and high expectations whilst the first appearance of our Ballspielverein in London since September 2002 came closer and closer. Last Wednesday, Borussia Dortmund together with thousands of Dortmund fans finally was back in London, England, the country, where football-related terms which every our supporters is more than familiar with have been invented: passion, loyalty, ambition ... Phoenix from the ashes

Phoenix from the ashes

How often has this wonderful fairytale bird been adduced when somewhere something old has been renewed. Phoenix is said to be pure because all his failures are burnt with him and is therefore used and abused so often for so many things. But very rarely has the saying „risen as Phoenix from the ashes" been as true as it is for the new German football champion Borussia Dortmund. [mehr..]
