New York's Football Factory at Legends – better than ever!

Editor Henry with a woman from JapanAt first I have to make a confession. One of my great passions is without a doubt Borussia Dortmund – it's the main reason why I'm writing some reports here from time to time. The other passion is that I'm a really big New York fan. Of course there are a lot of different meanings about the pros and cons of the "Big Apple". But my opinion about New York City is clear: I'm sure it's hard to find another city where you can find a new attraction even nearly at every corner of the street. And very often you will find some attractions or places of interest which are not mentioned in any of these hundreds of tourist guides about New York City and especially Manhattan.

The Yellow Wall Podcast

This past summer, while in Germany visiting family (I currently live in the USA), I made a much needed pilgrimage to Dortmund. I made the obligatory trip to the fan shop, where I spent way too much money, but was happier for it. I also made my first ever stop in to see the Borusseum; Dortmund’s club museum. It was a great experience seeing the history of the club that I’ve supported since I was seven come to life with great old match footage, historical artifacts and getting up close to the trophies won over the decades. This short, one day trip to hallowed grounds was crucial for me in once again making it clear just how important a club Borussia Dortmund have been in the past and are today.

Borussia all over the globe

Andrew (left) and Cameron (right)A couple of months ago, the Facebook site of the BVB started collecting pictures that showed fans of Borussia in their jerseys, with their scarfs and flags in a lot of different countries all over the world.
When I first saw those pictures, I thought it was a nice idea, but then it came to my mind that it would be much more interesting not only to see the German supporters travel the world but also to get to know supporters in other countries, and especially to get to know their ways of becoming fans of Borussia Dortmund.
This is why we are going to introduce you to a supporters club that, at least in the German perspective, is located in Far Far Away Land: Say hi to our friends from Borussia Dortmund Australia!

Echte Liebe from Finland!

This was already my third time this season when I traveled to Germany for a match between Borussia Dortmund and Bayern München. I saw both Bundesliga matches live inside Arroganz Arena and Westfalenstadion but I had to settle for the public viewing event in Waldbühne when I traveled to Berlin. The planning of this Pokalfinale trip started immediately after the last BVB-Bayern match when I realized that I have to come and enjoy that great BVB-atmosphere one last time this season. I actually had a couple of tickets for the match against SC Freiburg but unfortunately I had to skip that trip and sell the tickets due to some non-cancellable engagements Finland. When I realized that I can't make the trip to Dortmund I knew that I had to fly to Berlin and see BVB play "live".

Speechless

Champion once again!Bayern don't lose two years in a row. Without Sahin Dortmund is nothing. They're too hungover from last year's party. You can't expect players like Grosskreutz, Schmelzer, and Subotic to step up again. Klopp got lucky. Doubts. Concerns. Insults. MEISTER!

Looked like a long ball with potential, but alas its scuttled to Grosskreutz. Decent pass to Gündogan at the top of the box. Mhm. What's this? Off the post? No?! NO! TOR! TOR! TOR! TOR! TOR! TOR! BERLIN BERLIN WIR FAHREN NACH BERLIN!

Football Factory at Legends, New York-The heart of football in the heart of the city

Fanscarves in the Legends pubMaybe, some of you remember my report about New York having been published on schwatzgelb.com one year ago, regarding the football bar Nevada Smith’s.
A visit of this football bar last year was really worthwhile, because we (my wife Cornelia, my brother-in-law Wolfgang and me) had the opportunity to watch the 2:0 win of BVB against Nuremberg live. Furthermore we met a Japanese girl, named Chikako, a BVB supporter as well as a great Shinji Kagawa Fan.
