What a way to finish off 2011!

A great finish for 20112011 was a hell of a year. Not only that Borussia Dortmund won the championship in May and celebrated it big time, but even in the first half of the season that followed, the Deutscher Meister underlined his great performance of season 2010/2011 by going into the break on the second rank. The trip to Champions League grounds was a wild run which ended early, but since Tuesday, we got several lasting impressions for the rest of the year. One: Borussia can score penalties. Two: Borussia can win in cup competitions. Three: Even with several personal problems, the team is still able to play a good ball. Four (not a new one): We have one of the most awesome teams in Borussia's history.

A Relaxed Evening - At Least for Mitch Langerak

Based on the reactions that were communicated to the communication board of schwatzgelb.de, it can be determined that last evening was not a regular cup night. With Dynamo Dresden, a club from the new eastern states of Germany, a promising quantity of supporters could be expected. Unfortunately a part of the Dresdener did not know what it means to be a guest. Even the newest starting debut of Aussie Mitchell Langerak fades from the spotlight regarding the occurrences of last evening. But let us take one thing at a time.

Suprising win in Sandhausen

Suprising win in SandhausenOk, maybe a bit exaggerating. But regarding the one or other first round exit in the last years, it was a good job our boys have done. Beating SV Sandhausen 3-0 to advance to the second round of this season's DFB cup was essential to keep up the good mood around Strobelallee.

Groundhog Cup

Once again the DFB-Pokal proved that it is just not for us. Once again we travelled to some minor league team just to see our hopes of making the next step towards the much desired final in Berlin getting crushed. Once again we feel like Bill Murray waking up in Punxsutawney just to go to through the same old misery over and over again. This time BVB did not even have the mercy of going down after 90 minutes, but we had to live through 30 minutes of extra-time and a penalty shoot-out, that brought up fundamental questions about the ability of our most expensive strikers. Let´s just hope that groundhog cup won´t set the Borussia weather for the next six weeks.

Wacker, Wacker, eh eh

Borussia Dortmund started the new season in style with an easy 3-0 win against Wacker Burghausen. While the black-yellow lads secured the result early in both halfs, there were also periods of lacking concentration. Nonetheless a deserved progress to round two of this season's DFB cup.

Sometimes Soccer...

....turns into the least important thing on the planet. While other fans were awaiting the first game after the winterbreak eagerly, a young BVB fan had a terrible accident on the Südtribune and sustained serious head injuries which lead to his death in the hospital.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends.

Business as usual - No Berlin in Berlin

Straight to hell boys! You have to love those games. After what had been a disastrous week with to set-backs against Udinese Calcio and Hoffenheim Borussia welcomed Hertha of Berlin for yesterdays midweek cup-clash. A year after some 40.000 saw Borussia do the groundwork against Eintracht Frankfurt for an unforgettable day in Berlin this April only 30.012 entered Westfalenstadium. They saw a team wanting to avoid a worst case scenario, trying to keep their name on the sheet in at least one more competition. They succeeded!

The boxer stood up impressively

The boxer stood up impressively Look at us, Germany: The capital full of Dortmunders, a stadium reigned by yellow-black and a fight that one can hardly forget as Borussia almost successfully fought the Bavarian agricultural society. In the end of the day we can be proud of the team.
