Berlin, Berlin - Borussia bring the Cup back home!
On April the 19th of April Borussia Dortmund will take on Bayern Munich in the DFB Cup final in Berlin. The black and yellows have gone a long way after 19 years when Borussia was able to win the cup for the second time in club history.
Currently every supporter of BVB is trying to get a ticket for the ground or has already a ticket. There have been several options to get tickets. But overall there have been only 20.000 tickets for 200.000 orders. There is an estimation that something between 50.000 and 100.000 Borussen will be in Berlin. To be honest, I think it will be far more BVB supporters on the streets of Berlin!
Borussia kicked out third Division team Magdeburg in the first round, first division team Frankfurt in the second, first division team Bremen in the third, second division team Hoffenheim in the quarter final and second division team Jena in the half final. The only away game was against Magdeburg; all other games have been in the Westfalenstadium. So, you could say that Borussia had the luck on their side, but in the past years the club has also been kicked out of the Cup by lower teams.
Now, here we are finally in Berlin and we have to take on the best team in the Bundesliga, the club who has won the cup 13 times, record holder in Germany, Bayern Munich. The club from the south of Germany has a very strong squad; most of the players are also playing for the national teams. With Klose, Toni and of course Ribery the Bayern have three world class players in the team, besides Lucio, van Bommel, Lahm, Kahn and and and...
Does Borussia even have a realistic chance to win the Pott (German slang for Cup) and bring it back to Dortmund?
Deep in my heart I think yes!
The reasons are:
1. On a perfect day our squad can beat every team
2. BVB is not playing a good Bundesliga season at the moment and the team will focus on the Cup
3. Borussia has the heart, the passion and the spirit of winning such a final
and now the most important one:
4. There will be thousands and thousands Borussia supporters in the stadium and in Berlin. We will be the wings for the squad and together with them we will fight till the end and we will bring the Cup back home
Whatever will happen on the 19th of April 2008 in Berlin:
We will stand and hold our ground with proud - We are Borussia!

Aki Schmidt has hold the cup the first time up into the sky of Berlin after winning two - nil against Alemania Aachen in the cup final 1965!
Michael Zorc has hold the cup the second time up into the sky of Berlin after winning four - one against Werder Bremen in the Cup final 1989!
It is up to you now to hold up the Cup for the third time in Borussia Dortmund history into the sky of Berlin!
