Transferfacts and transferrumours
There have been a lot of speculations in the last weeks about possible candidates to wear the black-yellow jersey. So schwatzgelb.com tries to say what’s true, what’s not and what could be possible.First we have to talk about the never-ending story of Tomas Rosicky. It’s a (bad) tradition that every summer and winter when the transfer period starts, some newspapers write about a perfect deal between Borussia and another (mostly Spanish) club. This time it was Athletico Madrid who played the part of the asking club. So Marca (a Spanish newspaper that has already published a lot of false rumours) said that Madrid would offer 11 Million Euro for the Czech national player. Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke answered that they would discuss the topic with an offer under 13 Million Euro. The deadline was fixed until Christmas and he said that there was no need to sell Tomas because of a contract till 2008.
So if this was clear the name of Steven Pienaar appeared. The South African middle fielder from Ajax Amsterdam is end of contract in summer 06 and could be replace Rosicky after a possible transfer. At the moment it seems as if both sides have agree on a future contract depending on a stay of Rosicky until summer. At last then Pienaar should come to Dortmund.
Another South African player has already signed a contract. The striker Matthew Amoah will play for the rest of the season and until 2008 for Borussia. He came from Vitesse Arnheim and as said he’s the needed striker that’s missing. As a candidate to replace the leaving Jan Koller, Alexander Frei from Stade Rennes has been named. The problem is his contract till 2007 and a probable participation with his Swiss national team in this year’s world championship that could attract other clubs.
It seems as if the transfer of the young defender Martin Amedick from Eintracht Braunschweig in summer 06 is fixed. Both parties have agree on a deal but had to wait until the begin of this year to sign the contract. Amedick will be out of contract in June.
Another defender of Second League Bundesliga is Nico Herzig from Wacker Burghausen. There were some rumours that he might be in contact with Borussia but at the moment there is no action in this case.
Another rumour is the talented defensive middle fielder of Ajax Amsterdam Nigel de Jong. But he might be too big for Borussia. Manchester United could be a dangerous opponent while we have the advantage of being in possession of Steven Pienaar, a good friend of De Jong. Another aspect is that his position in the squad will be fulfilled for another two years by Sebastian Kehl, who signed today until 2008. This is very good news because Kelly is THE leader of our baby team. So manager Michael Zorc succeed to keep the key-players Weidenfeller, Metzelder, Dede, Kringe, Odonkor, Wörns, Ricken and Kehl for the future. A good signal for all the fans because this means that Dortmund looks into a glorious future, with a motivated, talented and young team.
