BVB is gathering way after winter break

What is going on at Borussia Dortmund during the preparation for the return leg of the Bundesliga? We give you a short overview about issues like the trainings camp, injured players, transfer rumours and things like that.

Today at 2pm CET Borussia Dortmund depart from Düsseldorf international airport and head via Malaga airport for their winter training camp in Marbella. On Friday at 6pm CET BVB will play a test match against Chinese club FC Shenhua Shanghai. The match will be broadcasted live in China.

Stadionwelt.de: Hongkou - Home of FC Shenhua Shanghai, capacity: 35.000

On Saturday at 8pm CET the winner of this match will play the winner of Borussia Mönchengladbach/FC Volendam and the looser meets the looser of this clash.

On 14th the Blackyellows meet the local club FC Marbella and 3 days later arrive back in Dortmund.
Several players joined the team after the winter break. Fully fit are Falvio Conceicao, Torsten Frings, Ahmed Madouni and Andre Bergdolmo. Evanilson ist still getting treatment in Brazil and will most likely be back in Dortmund on 20th of January but will still be out for several weeks. Dede and Fernandez are also still in South America to recover from injuries and will maybe join the team in Spain. All 3 of them have to pay fines as they didn’t call the club to declare that they still need treatment and will arrive later. Dede and Fernandez will most likely be fit for the “Derby” on 30th. So the only players that will miss the Schlacke clash are Amoroso, Metzelder, Senesie, Evanilson and Addo.

Meanwhile on Monday the sale for the remaining tickets (nearly 55.000 season ticket holders) for this match started. Within few hours the match was sold. So 83.000 will attend this match – a alltime high for Borussia Dortmund!
Another topic in the media is that Borussia Dortmund is negotiating a ticket-securitisation or a similar asset backed security with a runtime of 12 years. The talk is about 60 to 100 Mio Euro. There are also rumours that the club will make this season a loss of between 20-45 Mio Euro due to missing TV and ticket revenues from European competition. If BVB fails to qualify for an international competition for next season there will probably players leave the club if the offer is right.
English anf Belgian sources yesterday published news that Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund are interested in young and talented keeper Fabian Carini who is currently under contract with Standard Liege. The former Juventus Torino player could fill the gap that Warmuz leaves as it seems his contract with the Blackyellows won’t be renewed. But till now this is just a rumour.
