Same procedure as every year!

There are some events that happen every autumn. It’s getting colder, the days are getting shorter and BVB is quitting German FA Cup. But this time we don’t had to visit a second division team but our journey took us to the Mythic Borussia Mönchengladbach.

It’s always a hot game when the Big Borussia from Dortmund is visiting his little brother. This one always tries to impression the great rival.
BVB with one change after the lost unreal Derby against Bochum on Sunday: Injured Dede was replaced by the unlucky Reina instead of one of our Amateurs Gambino and Co.
Gladbach had a good start and because let them play. So they got punished for this attitude after 10 minutes when Demo scored the first goal with a great free kick. Kehl had left the defensive wall to disturb Demo but he opened the needed space to let the ball go in. No chance for Weidenfeller and another goal for our opponent scored by free-kick.
15 minutes later, Gladbach scored with their second shot on goal, when Koller’s loose ball went to Kolkka who wasn’t attacked by the complete BVB defence.
Everyone who hoped for a BVB reaction got frustrated. There was no reaction. The team didn’t defend themselves against a possible defeat. They showed a really bad performance that ashamed every hardworking fan. They made our club ridiculous in front of the 28.000 spectators and the millions of spectators in front of the TV, because the game was live broadcasted in prime time. Yes it’s right that we have a lot of injured players but that’s no explanation why the eleven man on the pitch don’t give everything they can and run till they aren’t able anymore. That’s the least thing you could afford from everyone wearing a black-yellow jersey. Damn!
Sammer brought in Gambino and Senesie for weak Ewerthon and Reina. But he could have changed also two other players.
BVB played a little bit better but without creating any dangerous attacks.
After 71 minutes we could notice the first shot on goal from Senesie. Now BVB was awake and try to score the first goal. But they missed their best opportunities. Especially Kehl who wasn’t able to succeed standing alone in the box area and being well served by Gambino. Stiel could clear that weak shot into corner kick.
When everyone was already thinking about a BVB out in FA Cup, Odonkor, again well served by Gambino, entered the box area and was fouled by Carnell. Penalty for Dortmund in minute 87! Koller let Stiel no chance and there was the hope again.
But it was too late. Gladbach played clever and Dortmund didn’t show their greatest will to equalize and so it was all other and BVB again missed to enter the third round of FA-Cup.
A deserved victory for Gladbach who was the better in part one but they weren’t unbeatable. Even with such a reserve team. Sammer should have let in the three amateurs far earlier instead of some old guys who don’t play like pro’s. After the game Sammer warned the team not to get the Leverkusen of 2004. Because Dortmund will get a hot November with opponents like Hamburg, BUYern, Sochaux or Leverkusen. And there won’t be a lot of returns from injured players in these weeks. So BVB has to change their mentality if they don’t want to get blamed a few times till winter break.
