Finally a clear victory

Only three days after the disappointing loss against Milan in wednesdays Champions League match Borussia defeated, in the last match in this half-season, Energie Cottbus with a clear and deserved 4-0.


In the stadium of friendship, which deserves it's name only since this season (all opponents got their three points there), before this year it was rather knwos as the stadium of hostility, coach Sammer changed the team, compared to the Kaiserslautern match, on two postions. Dede took over Evanilson's (illness) place and Kehl played on Rosicky's, who was also sick, position. Cottbus coach Geyer trusted Rozgonyi for the banned Beeck, nominated attacker Juskowiak for the lately disappointing Rink and Thielemann and Kobylanski replaced Schröter and Rost in the midfield.
After about five minutes, which Borussia needed to adapt to the frozen ground, they took completly control over the game. So it was only a mattter of time when Borussia scored their first goal. And in minute eight it was time for the first goal. Ewerthon played Koller free with a wonderful pass and the large czech had all time of the world to control the ball and decide in which corner of the goal he would like the play the ball.
After the goal Borussia had plenty of chances for more goals, the biggest had Christoph Metzelder, but, alone in front of the goalie, he shot the ball on the terrace. Shortly before the break Matthias Sammer replaced Sebastian Kehl, who was in great danger of being banned, by Thomas Rosicky who had the first great chance in the second half, but all he hit was the stake.
But Borussia remained passioned and so it was no suprise that Borussia led 2-0 after Ewerthon scored after a nice Ricken solo, who was sent by Koller. After that goal Borussia slowed down a little bit, but was still very dangerous for the confused Cottbus defense, which was no match for Borussia at all and in this condition the first team to be relegated. Cottbus never performed as they could be any danger for Borussia. In minute 83 Amoroso, the biggest disappointment wednesday, scored a brilliant goal for the 3-0 and Koller scored, almost with the final whistle, the 4-0.
