BVB wins 1:0 against Agdam in Baku
After travelling 3.500 km to play the first European Cup game on Asian soil, the team managed to come back victorious over once again harmless Qarabag Agdam. In the hot, humid climate and on a ground that reminded of a potatoe acre and after the 4:0 victory at home, the main focus of the BVB team seemed to be to get back to the hotel unharmed and without a second booking.
So the match was rather eventless. Agdam relied on their defensive style that worked so well at Westfalenstadion, didn´t it? Well no it did not. But when everybody seemed to be happy with a 0:0, Super-Lucas had a reward in store for the long journey of 350 BVB supporters to the Caspian Sea and scored the 0:1 in overtime.
So now it is time to focus on the draw of the group stage, which will be held tomorrow at 1 p.m. CET. We will provide some further information on this later on tonight, when the other matches of the Europa League Qualifiers will be finished.
Until then it is time to celebrate the return of the mighty Borussia Dortmund to the European main stage.
