BVB against Kickers Offenbach in second cup round
BVB will play the second round of the DFB-Pokal at the seasoned ground on Bieberer Berg. Todays draw came up with 3rd league leaders Kickers Offenbach as Borussia's next opponents. The Kickers are a team with a lot of tradition and even know how it feels to win the DFB-Pokal, but their greatest day was forty years ago when they beat Köln 2:1 in the 1970 final at Hannover. The BVB-legend Andreas Möller is today sport director in Offenbach and the team is eager to leave the third league behind. The upcoming cup match might be one of the last chances to visit the old traditional ground at Bieberer Berg, as the stadium will be reconstructed and of course renamed after a sponsor. The start of the construction works is planned for the end of 2010.
This is a doable opponent with a nice ground and Offenbach is not a remote place like Burghausen. The draw could not have gone much better for BVB. Let's just hope our team will stay focused in Offenbach and we can surely hope to see round three of the cup as well.
